Western Digital Green 1.5TB Incompatible??

Just got a Drobo S (USB 3.0). Put 3x1.5 TB WD Caviar Green (WD15EARS) drives in it and get an error and red lights saying that the drive pack is incompatible with the firmware on the Drobo S. I verified that the version on the Drobo S is UTD and same with dashboard. These are the same drives that many Drobo kits sell with. I’m able to format and read and write to each drive from my computer if I put each drive in a dock separately. I can’t find anything in the knowledge base and my drives should be compatible. Also support hasn’t gotten back to me and it’s been over two days. Can anyone here help me?

My computer is a Mid 2009 MacBook Pro running the most recent version of OS X 10.6.

Please advise, thanks.

it seems to think that it is an existing disk pack, rather than brand new dsks

if you put all the disks in, then use the reset hole on the back (look up how to reset a drobo in the knowledge base) then drobo will WIPE ALL THE DISKS, an you should be able to use them

Problem solved. That was easy…why couldn’t they put that in the knowledge base??

Because they choose to put it in the manual, section “Troubleshooting”.
