VMware ESXi 6 on B1200i?

Is Drobo planning to certify the B1200i with VMware for ESXi 6, or will there be a new Drobo model?

We need to migrate from ESXi 4.1 since VMware support has ended. We’re currently running our SAN on the B800i. The B1200i will allow us to run ESXi 5.5, but we’d like to know it has the capability of upgrading to ESXi 6 before we make a purchase.

Last time I spoke to VMware about an issue (december 2014) they claimed that a B1200i was NOT supported on esx 5.5 only 5.0 and 5.1

I would be pleased to know that it has since been certified to 5.5 but I haven’t seen anything to suggest that is the case.

As to getting an update to ESX 6? Well, we can hope…

The HCL reports that 5.5U2 AND 6 are now supported!
