I bought my Drobo 3 years ago, and just finally plugged it in! Naturally, it needs updating, and it guided me thru formatting, and then it seemed to do an update, then said my computer couldn’t recognize the drive. Then it asked to update and I clicked ok…but it’s been going on for an hour now. Says do not disconnect or quit dashboard. What do I do?
Can you confirm if this was a firmware update or a dashboard update? Can you tell what version of firmware it was previously on, or what version it is updating to?
I forced quit, and it updated ok. Now it just says that it doesn’t see the Drobo. I used a regular USB cable, though. Maybe a Firewire would be better, eh ? I think it was a firmware update. Not sure what versions.
