I started here at this company and inherited a problem where our productions web servers backup to one of the Drobos and that in turn syncs with the other one. I have documentation where one of the developers decided to use the first Drobo for"caching/syncing" so all of our servers could read from it. They enabled “symlink” on the SMB shares that Drobo provided in the underlying system but didn’t allow by default. so they enabled command line access to the Drobo and logged in and changed the smb.conf settings and maybe others… All that being said I am new to this company and new to using Drobo. The system will still sync but a degraded rate. In turn this causes the websites to be slow and unresponsive.
