To avoit thread duplication, but in case this is a Drobo specific issue rather than a Droboshare issue, any chance of taking a look at this?

well to figure out whether its a drobo or droboshare issue - have you tried plugging it (drobo) directly into a machine via usb? is it still read only then?

yes, now, and it’s a droboshare issue. Was wanting to avoid doing that as it would force Drobo into standby, and if this were a hardware issue, well …

There are more than a few stories about Drobo and losing data, and I don’t have the HDD space to back up Drobo, which has me a little concerned.
