I have a Drobo 5N2 that had a drive failure late last week. The data has shuffled around and the drive may be removed. But I’m having trouble getting the replacement drive quickly. It may be another week or so. Unfortunately we are having severe weather this week, and I’m wondering if it would be ok to shut the entire Drobo down until the new drive gets here? I would hate for a power shutdown while I’m not here to do any damage during such a critical time. Anybody have experience with this?
if you’re concerned about power issues during storms, then a shutdown and pulling the plug might be a good idea.
Yes, if the data protection is complete it is perfectly fine to shutdown the Drobo.
