Mounting a smbfs/cifs share on Drobo FS

I have just recently installed a Drobo-FS and it’s humming along well. It’s running SABnzbd and Sickbeard wonderfully.

I have another system that has my archive of tv. I’d like the Drobo-FS to be able to access it.

Is there a way to make DroboFS mount a smb/cifs share?

I’m made a new mount point in /mnt with:
mkdir -p /mnt/core

and then tried:
mount -t smbfs //core/Share /mnt/core

mount -t cifs //core/Share /mnt/core

The error I get is:
“mount: mounting //core/Share on /mnt/core failed: No such device”

Anyone have any suggestions as what I am doing wrong? Does DroboFS support mounting a smb share? I’m replacing a FreeNAS installation with Drobo here and while most things have worked wonderfully, this little hitch has stopped me in my tracks.

Any help would be appreciated.

The DroboFS can only mount it’s own shares in it’s default configuration and I’m not aware of any DroboApps that would allow it to mount shares located on other devices.
