Just an FYI for folks on Windows.
It’s not supposed to happen, but I’ve had times where using the mapped drive that Drobo Dashboard creates doesn’t work for some programs, and you have to use the UNC path instead.
So, for example, if you have Z: mapped to \DroboShare\Drobo
It should work to save to Z:\MyFolder
However, I have found with certain programs this is not the case.
For example, Galleon, a server for TiVo, doesn’t like Z:\MyFolder as its save path. It’ll merrily say it’s saving data, then result in Save Error.
Give it the UNC path of \DroboShare\Drobo\MyFolder and it’s perfectly happy.
BTW: I’ve seen this behavior with non-Drobo shares too, so I don’t think it’s a DroboShare issue per-se.
Just thought I’d mention it in case anyone runs into trouble saving to the mapped drives.
