Mac going 100% to APFS

My understanding is the next release of Mac OS, 10.15 I think, will drop support for HFS+. For fun I converted a Drobo to APFS and it seems to have worked. However, I am told it really doesn’t. What is the correct answer?

Note, there are things Drobo can do that are not officially supported but work. Might this be one of them?

One of the things that has worked for over seven years that I found out later Drobo says you should never do is I used Disk Utility to partition my Drobo. By the time I found this out it was too late to consider going back. It is these partitions, rather than the Drobo itself, that I am trying to convert to APFS. That may make a difference.

Good for you! Hope it’s till working ok? I a few months ago I had converted Drobo to APFS also, everything seemed to be fine but a few days later I chickened out & reverted back. Now I am considering to do for good. I have 2 DROBO’s (A & B) B is a back up to A. I plan on converting just A. One of the reason I want to do this now is because I use ShirtPocket Super Duper to automatically back up DROBO A to B. Now when Super Duper opens I get a message saying that macOS 10.15.2 requires APFS formatting Any updates are appreciated? Thanks

Any news on this? It’s been a year. Even from the folks asking “how did it go for you?”

I never went back to APFS AS OF 5/13/21. Does anyone else have any information?
