Does the 5N have an app for iSCSI? My media server has a second NIC that I’m not using, and my research show iSCSI has faster read times vs network shares. Could I connect my 5N directly to my server via the unused network port? If so, what are the up/down sides?

I’m not sure this will give you better performance than NFS, since that runs in the kernel.
This might be a deal-killer though…

You can always stripe/RAID iSCSI LUNs together.
