What I always had disliked with the Drobo Dashboard is that it wants a permanent Internet connection.
Furthermore it’s not specified where the dashboard wants to connect to, and what protocols it uses.
So you cannot probably configure a firewall (In these times where each application thinks it can share my data with everywhere this is essential IMHO)
So most of the time the dashboard cannot connect to wherever it wants; only if I change my firewall configuration it can. BTW: I’m not talking about the Windows firewall most applications add more or less stupid rules to.
Can anyone explain how Drobo connects and which data are sent out?
