THE MANUAL DOES A GREAT JOB OF TELLING ME HOW TO SETUP THE HARDWARE BUR NOTING TELL ME HOW TO ARRANGE MY FILES SO THEY GET BACKED UP. ALSO IS THERE ANY WAY TO VERIFY THAT THEY DID INDEED CREATE A SECOND COPY OF MY FILES. I HAVE 4 DRIVE , 3 1TB AND 1 500GB. DROBO DASHBOARD TELL ME THAT I HAVE 2 2TB DRIVES. AS AN EXAMPLE I COPIED MY DOCUMENTS FOLDER TOTHE FIRST DRIVE. NOW WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN
When data is copied to Drobo, it automatically backs up your files to the drives sitting in it. You don’t need to do anything to Drobo itself. Open up the Dashboard, and if it says your data is protected, your fine. If you want, pop out a drive from Drobo and see what it does; your data will still be there and its still accessible (it just gets really mad). Easy way to tell if Drobo has your data covered.
As for automated backup from your computer to Drobo, can’t help you there. Running Mac.
