how do you make drobo see a bad drive as good

How do you wipe a drive that Drobo reports as bad so that you can re-use it in drobo? I have had a new drive go bad but have run tests on it as advised by the drive manufacturer and all appears well, so what I want to do is to wipe it so drobo see’s it as good. I have tried to reformat it already in a bare drive case but when inserted back in drobo it immediately says it is bad.

There is already another topic related to this feature request. As far as I am aware that isn’t possible at the moment, because it seems to be that this information is stored somewhere in the drobo itself.
