I have my drobo connected to my Mac Pro. Each night I put my Mac in sleep mode.

Should I be disconnecting my drobo devices/volumes in the Finder before putting my Mac to sleep?

Also,

On the occasions when I do shut down my Mac should I be disconnecting my drobo devices/volumes in the Finder before shutting down?

Currently, I just treat my drobo as if it is a hard drive connected to my Mac and just put the Mac to sleep or shut down.

That should be fine, the mac will finish up all read-write operations before shutting down.

once your mac shutsdown your drobo should put itself into standby too.

Thanks, Docchris. I kind of figured what I was doing was alright, but I started wondering and thought I would throw it out there to the more experienced users. I have been putting my Mac to sleep or shutting it down without doing anything with the drobo volumes and everything seems to be fine.
