Hey,
So it seems all of the files from one of my shares have dissappeared! The other share has all of it’s files there, but my personal share (with all my family pictures etc) has just become empty.
I have reset the drobo and powered it on and off but that hasnt helped.
Any ideas on how I can get the files back?? It’s even showing up on the dashboard that the capacity has changed to reflect the missing files and I’m using less space. How has this happened? I’m the only one who has access to this PC and the drobofs on this network…
Please! any help really appreciated here!
You can try to establish a connection to the DroboFS using SSH and navigating via command-line to see if the files are still there.
But I have to say that if the free space has increase by the same amount of the missing files, I would say the odds are not really in your favor.
I agree that it doesn’t sound good, although it would be very odd to lose a single share like that. Unlike partitions, there’s nothing special about the files on a share, other than the Drobo shows it on the network separately. In other words, I can’t think of anything that could happen on the filesystem that would knock out one specific share like that.
Do set up SSH, and once logged in run “ls -l Shares/*/”. That will list the top level contents of all shares.
I hate to say it, but this sounds like a textbook case of accidental deletion by user.
