Failed drive on a Drobo (Gen 3)


Hi, in my drobo, I have 4 drives of various capacity 3/4 and 6tb.

The drive’s almost full so it asked me to upgrade the drive. I upgraded 3tb to a 6tb drive and now the drive shows up as failed. The new drive is HGST which I believe is now owned by WD.

I’ve formatted the drive, done lots of diagnostics with manufacturer tools and others and it comes up as healthy 100%. When I re-insert into drobo, it flags up as Failed.

What can I do? It’s still under warranty, but they’ll only replace the drive if it fails with their software!
