I have noticed that in several places (twitter, other forums, VMWARE support) users have been asking for a timetable on when the Drobo B1200i would be certified for ESXI 5.5 for several years. Is ESXI 5.5 officially supported, and if so, why is it not on the VMWARE HCL? If it is not supported, are there plans to certify for ESXI 5.5 or 6 or is the b1200i a dead product? Thanks.
To me is a dead product. I can’t even get more than 30 MB/s read and 80 MB/s write. What is your performance com ESXI 5.0?
Currently we are still working to qualify and certify the B1200i for use with ESXi 5.5. We have made some progress through the certification, and hope to have it certified for ESXi 5.5 in the future. We will advise when we do complete the certification for ESXi 5.5 with the B1200i.
Connected Data Support
The ESXI HCL finally shows that the b1200i is support for 5.5 U2 AND for ESXI 6 that was released this week!
i dont see how its supported… the dashboard does not show usage on esxi volumes. Performance is really bad to a point its unusable because of “background clean up processes”
opened several tickets over the past year with no resolution.
Wanted to bump this to see if 5.5 is now supported. And I also see the Data Sheet for the B1200i only shows “Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1 32 and 64 bit; Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit” support, is that still the case, or old information.
hi freddie, i had a look on the knowledgebase system, and the latest article mentioning esxi seems to have been recently updated here: https://myproducts.drobo.com/article/AA-01284
(it may not specifically answer your question, though it might be undergoing some changes based on last modified)
