drobo S v1 lost dim lights setting

Running windows 7 home premium, with Drobo S v1 connected via eSATA. Noticed that today the lights were on brightest setting when I got home. I tried rebooting the pc, drobo and reenabling the lowest brightness setting in Drobo Dashboard to no avail. Anyone else have this prob? NOticed there were a number of MS Windows updates applied last night…everything appears find in Device Manager.

That’s odd. Is the Drobo S working properly other than the light level?

I’d try power-cycling the Drobo S, then if that doesn’t work, try connecting via USB and applying the brightness change.

Hmm had to shut down and unplug both pc and drobo. Left it for quite a while then came back and restarted and everything was back to normal. Very strange…[hr]

That’s strange, but every once in a blue moon it happens.

A few days ago after applying updates to my WHS2011 machine and rebooting, one of my Drobos didn’t fully mount.
Device Manager saw it, but the system didn’t mount it. After another reboot, all was fine. shrug

Hmm that one is interesting too.
Came home today and again the lights were up to full brightness, though going into dashboard it was still set for level 1. I slid it up to full brightness setting then Ok’d then back in and slid it back down to level 1 setting and Ok’d and the lights then dimmed back down. Something seems up since the other day when the updates were applied. Otherwise Ive been doing nothing with the pc other than using as remote music file host.[hr]

Wow weird… Both my Drobo S units have held their brightness settings so far, but I haven’t rebooted more than once or twice since the update set.

What version of Drobo Dashboard are you running?

2.1.2fw and 2.0.5.44305 dashboard

Interesting, my Drobo S units are still 2.1.1 firmware, and I’m on Drobo Dashboard 2.0.3

So I’m behind and perhaps a bad test case…
