Hey all,
I’ve had my Drobo S for two years now. Been trying to get eSATA to work under linux for all this time, and still can not get it to work.
At first I couldn’t get it to work using an unsupported (AMD Integrated) eSATA port. After months and months of trouble shooting It was blamed on an AMD hardware bug causing PMP not to work properly.
At the time, I didn’t have any free expansion slots to install another eSATA controller so I had to sit tight and wait.
Now, I finally have saved up and upgraded my Linux box. I got one of the recommended eSATA controllers (StarTech PEXESATA2, the only one I could find) and was anticipating finally getting it to work properly…

Can anyone PLEASE comment on what can be done to get eSATA to work properly under Linux?
Otherwise I’ve about had it with Drobo…
