I am using my Drobo Mini for the “Service Data” on OS X Server. About 50% of the time after a reboot, the Drobo will end up getting mounted on “Drobo 1” instead of the Drobo mount point. This causes most of the services to fail to start due to missing directories, etc. It looks like the problem is there is a race condition between the “Messages” (Jabber) service and the Drobo getting on the /Volumes/Drobo mount point. I have the messages service off, but it still creates a data directory when the computer starts in /Volumes/Drobo, which prevents the Drobo from mounting there.
Is there any way to make sure the Drobo is mounted as early as possible in the boot process?
Thanks in advance.
