Drobo

Drobo FS connected directly to a Mac (how to share over wifi)

I have my FS connected to my imac with a crossover cable.

My question is, how do my wireless laptops in the house access the drobo via the iMac?

Can my imac share a share?

My router is in another location and ideally would like it to remain there.

I’m not sure if you can share a share.
It would be better to connect your FS to your network - then all machines on your LAN would be able to access the FS.
If location is an issue, you could use a network over power/telephone/coax product or a wireless bridge to make the connection between the FS and your router.

Why not simply configure the Mac to bridge the networks (Wifi + Lan)? This way your DroboFS would be visible from the Wifi side as well.

sounds good, how do i do that?

Try this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=mac/10.5/en/8156.html

I think in your case you want to share from Airport to Ethernet.

I can’t get it to work.

Also, I would have assumed I wanted to share my ethernet connection to computers with wifi
