Drobo connected to Netgear R7000 via USB 3.0?

Hi,

I’m new to the promising land of Drobo but I’m excited to get this thing going. I have a Netgear R7000 router at home that has a USB 3.0 port on it. I was under the impression I would start the Drobo via my laptop USB connection, format it, and then plug it into the router so I could share the volume on the network. However, it doesn’t seem to be working.

Is this configuration possible and if so, can you please share some tips or links on how it’s done?

You configured the Drobo via Dashboard using your laptop?

Mac or PC?

Can you read/write the Drobo while it is attached to your laptop?

You are using the USB3 port on the front of the router, yes?

Did it show up in the ReadySHARE utility? (Win)
