We have two Drobo 4-Bay 2nd generation devices hooked up to a physical server via USB that we use to backup our VMs. We’re interested in making the backup process faster and wondered if maybe there was a way to connect this particular model via SATA? Whether it’s through the use of SATA cards and the like or whatever… Is there a way to do it? Additionally, the physical server doesn’t have an external SATA connection of any type, so how would I work around that?
Just trying to establish if: a) It is possible to do this. and b) What will I need to make this a reality?
