Using Disk Utility to Verify & Repair your Drobo
Occasionally you may need to run a ‘verify’ or ‘repair’ on your Drobo volume if you experience any inconsistencies with it like it not mounting or the icon may be grayed out. Your Drobo is like any other volume on standard Mac disk and many minor errors can be fixed with Disk Utility. Before you repair your disk, you might want to verify it. If no problems are discovered, you don’t need to repair it. Once the verify displays its results run the repair option if needed based on the Verify results.

Repair your Drobo Volume with Disk Utility

[]Open Disk Utility, in the Utilities folder in Launchpad or located at /Applications/Utilities/.
[]Select the ‘First Aid’ tab.
[]In the left-hand pane, select the hard drive or volume you wish to run Repair Disk on.
[]Place a check mark in the ‘Show details’ box.
Click the ‘Repair Disk’ button.
[]If Disk Utility notes any errors, repeat the Repair Disk process until Disk Utility reports ‘The volume xxx appears to be ok. Save any error messages for analysis.

Verify your Drobo Volume with Disk Utility
You can check a disk for problems without repairing it.

[]Select your disk and click ’First Aid’ tab.
[]Next, click the ‘Verify Disk” button to start the operation.
