Data Protection In progress

Recently I’ve started to see OS X notifications about Drobo data protection in progress. I have a DroboPro with 6 of 8 bays full.

When I open drobo dashboard, the status shows that everything is ok, no failed disks, etc. Nothing else has changed.

Anyone have any idea what is going on or why these messages have started appearing?

I believe Drobos sometimes make use of otherwise idle time to move the contents of their storage around to optimise it. They move files from mirror zones to stripe zones and vice versa, depending on the content. Maybe that’s what is being reported?
