Data protection going for four days

I have a four-bay Drobo Gen 2 (Firmware v. 1.4.1), connected via FW800, running OSX 10.10.5. I had a drive go bad, and replaced it four days ago. Data protection has been running ever since. Initially, Drobo Dashboard gave it an estimated 171 hours. Now it just says “Data Protection: In Progress.” The drive has 6.14TB of data. This seems far too long- is this to be expected, or is something weird going on? If something is wrong, is there anything I can do?

this sounds ok and i think you should leave it for a week :slight_smile:

i say this as usually data protection (/rebuilds) take about 1 day per 1TB of data that you have. (sometimes a bit more if the drobo is being used too)

please hang in there and see how things go after a few more days, and it should hopefully then finish for you
