Dashboard 2.0.5 on Windows broke email notifications

2.0.5 Dashboard on Windows 7 x64. Upgraded from a previous version of the Dashboard. Email test message and email alerts fail to work now. I re-entered in all of my email details (user, server, authentication, etc) even though the details were carried over during upgrade process and the test email button still fails to send a test email.

The specific error message is…

Send Test Email Error
An error occurred while sending your test email. Please check the validity of all the email settings fields and try again.

[OK]

Any ideas?

my first thought would be a firewall which was configured to allow the previous version of dashboard though, but hasnt been updated to allow this version internet access

my second thougth is dashboard bug

I disabled the Windows firewall and the test email still failed. I don’t have any alternate email settings to try.

I do however have another program, Acronis Drive Monitor, that has email notification and using the exact same email settings I’m able to send emails from that program.

So narrowing it down to the Drobo Dashboard I’m assuming it is a bug in Dashboard 2.0.5.
