I need extra help using ctorrent, is that the program to download torrents straight to the drobo fs and how do you configure it, please step by step help would be great and what apps do I need? Thanks
ctorrent is a shell / command line application. You would need to use SSH to get shell access in order to use it.
so would transmission be better.
Do you happen to know why I can’t “run” ctorrent from Terminal? I have “cd” to the ctorrent directory on my DroboApps folder… and when I run any of the cmd lines… “ctorrent -h”, “ctorrent torrent.torrent” (for default download settings)… nothing seems to work, just get an error stating that ctorrent is not a valid file.
The transmission app has a web interface, so it is definitely more user friendly.
is there any ip blockers yet for drobo fs
What kind of IP blocker do you want? Drobo FS isn’t a router and traffic not intended for it doesn’t go through it, so it wouldn’t be able to filter IP access from other machines.
I suppose you could possibly make it a proxy server, but all the machines would have to have to be set to use the FS as a proxy.
I am not 100% but he might be referring to ip blockers for torrent clients, sort of like peerguardian.
