Configure on managed network

I bought a 5N for my workgroup at a university. The network admin told me that they can’t configure this on the network because it has only one NIC. Is this reasonable? I don’t know what to ask to know if they are doing things correctly.

Thanks.

Dan

Here’s a few things you should take note of Drobo 5N or Drobo B800fs network attached storage (NAS).

  1. 5N and B800fs does NOT support SNMP
  2. 5N and B800fs does NOT support AD (Active Directory) or LDAP

And if the network admin is looking for out-of-band management, using a dedicated port with 5N that is not possible.

Also note that B800fs., although has 2x Ethernet ports but their for fail-over and it does not support link-aggregation…
