can I move from droboshare to connecting the drobo directly with my mac?

I’m throwing in the towel on droboshare as it seems inordiantely slow, and I’m not using the drobo from other computers than my mac.

I’ve connected the drobo to the mac with a firewire 800 cable. Drobo Dashboard works (I can blink the lights), but the drobo does not show up as “device” in Finder.

I’m running mac os x 10.6.8.

Any suggestions? I tried looking at /Volumes per the drobo knowledge forum but no luck.

no idea what happened but now it showed up

Is your Drobo formatted HFS+? I’m not sure that would make any difference but bear in mind that there are some limitations to access if you formatted it as NTFS in Dashboard and don’t have something like NTFS-3G installed.
