Can I eject (USB) my Drobo while he's protecting data after harddisk replacement?

Hi
I just plugged in a new drive into my Drobo and now the Drobo says it needs 38 hours to protect my data! That seems like an awful lot of time for a half-full drobo. Anyway, I was wondering if the fact that it is being plugged into my Mac (USB) actually somehow slows it down. So I was wondering if it is safe to eject it and just let it reorganise the data while unplugged. Is that possible at all? Is it safe?

Thanks for any insight

It is safe to eject

personally i’d simply shut down your computer, once you computer is fully off, you can safely unplug drobo.

It wont standby until it has finished rebuilding

Thanks!
Will do that now…
