Does the 5N have to be set right-side up, or can it be placed on its side (so that the disks are vertical instead of horizontal)?
All drobos should only be used in the orientation in which they are designed.
other orientations MAY work… but the drobo is designed to hold the drives in place with gravity pulling in a certain direction… if you change that, one or more of the drives may loose contact at some point.
