I’m looking for a solution that would let me browse photos on my 5N from an app on my iPhone–basically replicate the functionality of the DS Photo app that works with Synology NAS devices.
There is no Drobo Photo app that I know of for just that function. I could recommend running Plex and using the Plex app for iOS, which also has the bonus feature of uploading photos taken back to the Drobo.
