I’m having problems with Apache on the 5N.
I’m using a disk pack from my FS, and the only apps installed (according to both the Dashboard and the contents of /DroboApps) are nano and openSSH which both work fine. However, I cannot successfully install apache and have it serve a web page - it appears to install and I get an apache directory, but it serves no webpages.
Lighttpd will happily serve web pages if I install it, and the hidden lighttpd server still serves “my.5n.ip.add/”, but if I install apache and remove the trailing “/” I get server unreachable error 
What am I missing?
Ricardo mentioned that the 5N has a built-in Apache server it uses to support the official DroboApps’ configuration pages; I wonder if that is interfering here. As I also run lighttpd, I can’t say for sure.
I saw that too, in Ricardo’s post about the 5N SDK, he mentions the ‘hidden 8080 server’. This appears to be lighttpd as it responds ‘lightppd is working’…
There must be a way of allowing apache to bind to the interface and listen to port 80 though…[hr]
I just created a new disk set on the 5N, (ie not an FS set) and tried to install apache. Again, appears to install OK, with the directory expanding, but there appears to be no functioning serving of web pages.
Ricardo, are you able to point me in the right direction?
Sorry for the delay, I’m out of town on a conference and I just managed to get some internet access.
Here’s the deal: to install Copy, the Dashboard stealthily install an old version of apache. That version has a specific folder layout that is required by Copy to deploy itself.
This means that when you install my version of apache you either mess up your Copy install or your install of apache won’t work. After I get back I’ll be looking into this to make sure that my version of apache is compatible with DRI’s one, i.e., either that it behaves as a drop-in replacement, or that it does not interfere with DRI’s apache at all.
