Seems most other mainstream NAS products have a mobile app to access shares?

Not directly from Drobo until now. But if you install an FTP server, or SFTP, or webdav, or even something like pydio, then there are apps.

I hope Drobo figure this out. NAS is widely used and should have these kinds of access options. Evolve or die.
