Anyone updated Dashboard to 2.6.0? It is listed for the new Drobo, but the 5D page still lists 2.5.3 as the current version.[hr]

Yes, Dashboard 2.6.0 should work even on 5D
5D wasn’t a surprise. Working with my Gen2 Drobo was a nice surprise.
All this time later and Drobo still can’t release a single version of their software for all supported devices at the same time. If it works for everything, release it for everything. If it doesn’t, then they better be ready to explain why not to people who own multiple models that need different versions that can’t be installed side-by-side.
Drobo Dashboard is such an utter steaming pile…
I’ve just installed it for my Drobo S v2. It works just fine but all the additional features, perhaps unsurprisingly, are not enabled. It seems they just don’t want people to upgrade when they don’t feel there will be any benefits of doing so, not that there are any actual incompatibilities. I was always ignoring this and getting the latest version published for the most recent models, for my previous 2ng Gen as well as for my current Sv2.

So far the only exception is original Drobo and DroboShare…
I usually wait until other people chime in. I don’t need to be a guinea pig! 
ah, so does this mean that users using Dashboard v2.6.0 will not be able to connect a Drobo Gen1 and have it recognised? if so… (ill reserve judgement for after some clarification)
A new version of dashboard (2.6.1) was just released for the 5D, GEN 3 and Mini.

It appears that the backup volume feature on the GEN 3 is now supported on both the MINI and the 5D. New firmware was released for all 3 products as well it seems.
Hi Darth, are you able to please help confirm for us, how we can access existing Drobo Gen1 and Gen2 models, with the newer dashboards?
eg, if i get an additional (and newer drobo model), and if it requires a new dashboard such as 2.6+ to be installed, will i still be able to connect my existing drobo’s to it and safely shut down etc?
if the original functionality was present in dashboards, then i assume the same recognition of older models will still be present?
